A New Market Communication Platform for a Complex, Regulated Energy Environment. The Belgian energy market operates under some of the most complex regulatory frameworks in Europe. When this project launched, the challenge was clear: build from scratch an end-user interface integrated with an existing SAAS market communication platform, in a heavily regulated multi-stakeholder environment, against a tight deadline, and without a detailed blueprint to start from. It was delivered — and the client’s own words say the rest.
Cogenius operates in the Belgian energy market, managing communications between multiple market parties across a tightly regulated framework. Their existing tooling was no longer fit for purpose, and a new platform was needed to support the ATRIAS MIG6 market mechanism — the backbone of how energy data flows between parties in Belgium.
The project came with significant constraints from the outset, and required a combination of rigorous upfront design, agile delivery, and an early focus on user adoption to deliver within the regulatory deadline.
